Panel 1: Conversation with Publicist & Celebrity Broker, Koshie Mills: Marketing Your Independent Film and Securing Top Talent.
Koshie Mills is best known as a power broker in Hollywood. She often says "I was born in Ghana, West Africa, raised in London, England and curated in Los Angeles, California." Koshie's initial experience in the entertainment industry came from over a decade of managing her three successful sons in film, television, voice over and modeling. Finding a niche in public relations, marketing, branding and consulting, she founded her own boutique full service firm K3 Public Relations (K3PR).
Armed with a multi-continent experience, Koshie utilizes her vast knowledge within the areas of media relations, communications strategy, digital media, journalism, celebrity brokering, talent management, international branding, special events planning, film development, production and casting as an asset for her clients. Her persistent out of the box creative thinking and her extensive contacts with influencers, allows her to deliver results for her clients which is her signature style.
When Koshie is not meeting her clients creative needs as the founder of the K3 conglomerate, she's empowering young women all over the world and using her career accomplishments to encourage success in others. A member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), she frequently lectures about public relations strategies , building a company and how to channel the inner boss lady to realize your dreams in the US, UK and Africa. An African woman at the core, she dedicates time, to being a connector, to bridge the creative gap between Africa and America. Based in Beverly Hills, California, she is happily married for over two decades and a proud mother of three sons.
Panel 2: Writer's seminar hosted by Charles Murray
Charles Murray has had a dream career as a writer/co-executive producer of the FX’s Sons Of Anarchy. Murray also is a writer/co-executive producer on Kurt Sutter’s FX series, The Bastard Executioner. Other TV credits include writing and producing on Lee Daniel's, Star,Criminal Minds, Castle, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Third Watch.
Panel 3: Director's Seminar hosted by Jeff Byrd
Jeff Byrd is a protege of Director Spike Lee. He started his film career working on several of Lee's films including, "Mo' Better Blues," "Jungle Fever," and "Malcom X." In the past 15 years, Jeff has emerged on the Hollywood scene directing, "King's Ransom" for New Line Cinema, "Soul Food," "Lights Out," and many others. Today you can find him directing television shows like "The Quad" and "Rebel" for BET. He's definitely a director to watch.
